Opulence is not what Edese Doret, Sr., the father of two bright boys, had in mind when he moved his family to the Bronx, NY to escape the political climate in Port Au Prince, Haiti. Although he spoke very little English and barely knew anyone, he expected his two sons to experience the American dream by becoming doctors, but in Edese, Jr.

The Bronx was bustling just like Port-Au-Prince, the capital of Haiti, and Edese Doret’s elementary school art teacher noticed his artistic hand.
